Costa Rica Tourism Safety

How bad is the rainy season in Costa Rica in mid-May?

My boyfriend and I are brainstorming honeymoon destinations. We go somewhere with a reasonable budget that has seen the eco-tourism enterprises. Costa Rica is a destination that we envision, but we will marry next May and looks like the beginning of the rainy season or green tourism businesses that call. We are therefore concerned by the suspended by rain and also on mosquitoes. If we take malaria medication work? We're open to looking at other places too – somewhere tropical, coastal and sunny with lots of interesting wildlife. We are also aware of safety, so we like going to a country with a government on stable and relatively good care. Thank you to those who give some advice.

May is the dry season for Caribbean, so I guess it would not bad.
