Why do they call the Costa Rica Coast Rica?
In fact, because when Christopher Columbus landed on the coast of Costa Rica during his fourth voyage, he saw that the local Indians wore ornaments of gold and assumed there was gold in this country, he called the rich coast or "Costa Rica"
