Backpack Central America for three months – advice pls!?

Hi, I'm planning a trip to CA from December to March, and I can wait, but I need some advice! Has anyone done a road from Panama to Guatemala (or vice versa)? How long have you been? I look a journey of three months and I would take more places along the way, inc some islands of the ruins, beaches, mountains, colonial towns, etc. I like to do in a mad rush, if poss! What I recommend that the budget? I think about $ 3500 USD should be sufficient given the IM does not Mexico and intends to spend long time not the most expensive in Costa Rica. I'm after the cheapest hotels and food and garbage in the night used to go and play a role huge in my journey. Thank you for your help! "

3 months sounds good, $ 3,500 is a lot of money and the trip from Panama to Guatemala could be done in a day or two, if that were the case. Travel to Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala – and I do not know too much about the rest, but I agree with what I know. Guatemala is an amazing country and you can easily spend a month to discover all the amazing places there! should do: Flores to visit Tikal in the Peten and other ruins, the market of Chichicastenango, Antigua colonial town and walk to the Pacaya volcano in the west, the villages around Lake Atitlan – These are a few that I mentioned, there are many more! I thought Super interesting to travel around San Andres Quetzaltenango Church Xecul (bright yellow), Fuentes Georginas baths …. You also have the super funky Livingston Place a culture completely different from the rest of the Maya of Guatemala – here is the black Caribbean Garifuna people. Honduras found it very amusing and a bit too much hassle. I had a good feeling here. But I wanted to stay for some time on the island of Utila, as relaxed life of the plunger is just awesome! Breakfast, snorkelling, lunch, scuba diving diver BBQ with friends and then, after the party … and repeat the same routine again the next day! Awesome! Then Copan Ruins are also a must, of course. El Salvador surprised me. At first, when entering its northwestern end, was the disgusting garbage everywhere but I was surprised it was better than I am inside. La Ruta de las Flores (Juayúa etc.) and the area Ahuachapán is welcome! Park also Manolo El Imposible National http://imposibletours.com/ is a must do in El Salvador! It extends from the town of Tacuba. I recommend you try to stay in shelters. Hostelbookers.com is good! Do you have a greater variety of shelters that most sites I know.
