Can anyone suggest an itinerary for two weeks vacation in Costa Rica?

I'm planning a trip to Costa Rica with my girlfriend in mid-March. We do a lot of hiking active, sports, and of course a lot of time on the beach to relax. I heard that to avoid Caribbean side of the country can be a good idea if you are only there for two weeks. Can someone tell me (I hope my own experience) a great journey of two weeks?
