Cheap things to do in Costa Rica?

I'm hiking in Costa Rica for two weeks and I'm on a budget as far as I am a poor student, I am currently in a clean hostel in San Jose. Any advice for other backpackers trip give me very good and cheap? I really want to spend the forest of Monteverde, rain and the beaches of the west coast. Thank you.

It was a few years ago, but I remember that, in many areas you could get a clean, respectable, so simple a period of $ 10 or less in many villages, although tourism areas has been dominated more variable. Monteverde was very cheap accommodation for backpackers use. I could explore a travel book budget oriented as Rough Guide Go or Lonely Planet or allows, but you can also ask any local. It was a little harder to find cheaper places near beaches West Coast, but I had a little luck. A couple of seats at low prices were camping Tamarindo and Jaco? They may have been converted into hotels yet. Quepos, Manuel Antonio, near NP, there were some cheaper places that serve the Costa Ricans. The national park of Santa Rosa had 2 or 3 places camping including near the ocean, but you are dependent coupling on long walks or hikes hot sunny road travel. Unfortunately often Camping is not an option in national parks … Other ways to save money: eating in local places of Costa Rica, cheap, delicious and very healthy, although the ubiquitous rice and beans can grow old. Travel by public bus, which are very cheap, not so bad and a great way to meet local people. In fact, in general, what you do people, not tourists.
